About Assam
Assam is the gateway to the North East: the mighty Brahmaputra, tea estates, the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati and Kaziranga National Park, home to most of the world's one-horned rhinos. Majuli, one of the largest river islands, adds Vaishnav monasteries and village life.
Assam trips pair easily with Meghalaya or Arunachal, and we arrange jeep safaris and river cruises as part of the package.

How to reach
Guwahati (GAU) has direct flights and trains from across India. Kaziranga is about 200 km (4–5 hours) by road; Jorhat airport is closer for Majuli.

When is Kaziranga National Park open?
The park usually opens for safaris from November to April and closes during the monsoon. Exact dates are announced each year.
Which safari is better, jeep or elephant?
Jeep safaris cover more ground in the central and western ranges; elephant rides go early in the morning and get close to rhinos. Many travellers do both.
Can I combine Assam with Meghalaya?
Yes. A 6–7 day route of Guwahati, Shillong, Cherrapunji and Kaziranga is one of our most popular trips.
