About Arunachal
Arunachal Pradesh is the high, quiet corner of India: the Tawang monastery, the 4,170 m Sela Pass, apple orchards in Dirang and the rice fields of Ziro valley. Roads are long but spectacular, climbing from the Assam plains into the eastern Himalaya.
Our Arunachal tours include the Inner Line Permit, an experienced hill driver and overnight stops that break the long drives.
Best time to visit
March to June and September to November; December to February for snow at Sela Pass
How to reach
Start from Guwahati or Tezpur. Tawang is two days by road with a night in Dirang or Bomdila. Ziro is reached via Itanagar or North Lakhimpur.

Arunachal trip FAQs
Do Indians need a permit for Arunachal Pradesh?
Yes, an Inner Line Permit (ILP). We apply for it with your ID once the trip is confirmed.
How many days are needed for Tawang?
At least 6 days from Guwahati: two days each way by road and two days around Tawang, Bumla and Madhuri lake.
Is Sela Pass open in winter?
The road is usually kept open, but heavy snow can close it for a day or two. We keep buffer time in winter trips.
